Ron Kincaid is the co-owner of a business operating in New York along with his wife Gina. He had an affair with an employee of his, Tara Cooke.
Ron had an affair with Tara Cooke, an employee at the company. When Ron's wife Gina found out about this, she had Tara killed and covered up to look like a car accident. Since Tara made a 911 call before she was murdered, Ron hired a resourceful man with connections to a Mexican gang to force Sandra Nicholson, a 911 operator, to erase the 911 call records from the past two days to remove proof that Tara was murdered. The man had the gang kidnap a young boy named Aaron and strap him to a bomb, as Sandra's own child died because of her self-imposed irresponsibility and she couldn't bear to see something like that again.
NYPD detectives Lionel Fusco and Jake Harrison investigated Tara's case and deduced that she was murdered after reports of carpet fibers found in a bruise on her arm. Following some investigations, Fusco and Harrison confronted Ron and Gina with evidence that they were responsible for Tara's death and Aaron's kidnapping. Gina was unaware of the kidnapping, however, and both of them were arrested. After their arrest, the man Gina hired ended his blackmailing of Sandra since the Kincaids had confessed. Harrison later tells Fusco that the Kincaids hired lawyers but the carpet fibers found on Tara match with those in Ron's car and with the 911 call, they should be able to convict the two.
