"Aus" guy, the preview shows Reese very angry covered in blood, with Root, Shawn, Harold, and I think Fusco, looking out the window and then there is a clip where they show Reese about to kill the Cop who murdered or injured (idk yet) Carter :'(
No no no!!! They can't kill Carter...I mean they'll try to replace her with Shaw...no way, Carter is unique, we all love her and after de war with HR I happened to like the character even more, I was expetcing that she got shot by him at that exact moment, or even kidnapped, but that shot looked bad, and it looked more than she was just passing out, I think she's really dead...why would they do that, I mean if you want to kill a character kill Fusco (don't get me wrong I like Fusco, but Carter is...Carter!) The show just will never be the same without her, let's see what happens next, afterall the next episode was written by Jonathan Nolan, so...maybe everything turns out fine afterall...I really hope so.
Carter's character is so central to the show! I really can't see it being successful without her... I'm sure the writers have a plan to keep the show going without Jos, but I really cannot imagine the show continuing. She was the glue that kept it all togetehr.
Writers of a TV show have a responsibility to put on a good show. Person of Interest has always been the best. There is always an element of suspension of belief in these kind of shows, and we the views who love the show accept this. An unwanted element from the view of the writers is that viewers become so attached to the characters they may feel shackled. Obviously the writers of POI have no such shackles as they feel creative storytelling is more important that the feelings of views. There are, there were 4 main characters of POI. They all became like friends in a way- and the way they cheated death was accepted by us the average TV audience. HR did not kill Joss Carter, the writers did and it was a decision. I suppose I should respect that, but then the writers will have to respect this; I no longer want, I am no longer able to watch this show. I will not sit in front of the TV and worry about who they want to kill next. If this is entertainment, this is someone elses idea of entertainment, because it certainly is no longer mine. The creators have come out and vitually promised they are killing everyone eventually. For a TV show it has become rather sadistic. Good-bye Joss. I would have felt the same if they had killed Reese, Fusco or Harold, but they killed Joss. No matter, I am no longer watching this show.
The POI Writer's Room Twitter just said 'It has been a pleasure working with you.' to Taraji P Henson. And then they said 'P.S. Everyone lives on in flashbacks.' I sincerely hope this is the writers' way of messing with us. They can't kill off Carter!
I didn't like how they added "a** pull" romance out of nowhere. But am extremely sad Carter is dead. I was crying but now I have to move on and do my homework. Carter was an amazing female character.... she will be missed. I'm really worried about Reese, Finch and ESPECIALLY Fusco right now.... gosh he was just on the phone with his new "partner."
Joss Carter was a wonderfully engaging and interesting character to watch as acted by Taraji P. Henson. She evolved and had gravitas. The character was a rare woman of color on TV and film, a combination gentleness, strength and held her own with the boys. The character will be missed. I won't be watching the show in the future.
I'm feeling shocked by Carter's death. She has been such a great character. I don't believe the show's creators would get rid of her--she is too central to the main plot. My belief is that she wanted out of her contract for some other, bigger, opportunity, and I will be watching closely for what Taraji P. Henson does next. Thank you for playing this character so amazingly well, Taraji!
I can't believeJoss dies......we love the show and these characters become almost family! The writers always screw things up thinking they are improving the show! Shame on you.......you will receive alot of complaints from very unhappy people!
I sincerely hope that this was a result of Taraji P. Henson choosing to leave the show for one reason or another: I don't believe there is, nor was there ever any reason to screw with the Core Four just for the heck of it. Each of them brought a vital element to the show: Reese is the objective fighter (not like Shaw who I think tends to jump to conclusions too quickly, not to mention having an overly itchy trigger finger), Finch is the technology know-how, Fusco's constantly getting his hands dirty with and collecting info on all the bad guys (though I've always seen him as being a comic relief character at heart more than anything else), and Carter's the moral compass pointed in the right direction, as Reese said in "Legacy". Losing any one of them removes a central dimension from the team as a whole, something that can't be replaced by any other character, and so there had better be a damn good reason for shaking up the show this drastically.
Rest in Peace, Joss Carter; you will be missed dearly, and not just by your POI comrades.
It's like 24, Law and Order, or any other show of that type: characters come and characters go. It happens. Her character was meant to be short lived from the start; they said that in a couple interviews I read. It's a shame, but it shakes up the cast, and that's healthy for a show.
If the bad guys made me stand on a plastic tarp while they told me of their evil plans for the city, and I managed to escape with their top guy who I was then able to get to productive custody at the FBI by battling my way through street gangs and groups of bad cops and then I learned that the #2 guy who has wanted to kill me since we met escaped, I think there is a better than average chance I would have worn my bloody ballistic vest.
This show has always been our best show and as a team when they all joined together, joss was a true tough omen who had no fear whatever faced her. To have her killied in this show makes no sense. You take the best actress out of the show. She prooved to be a tough woman and had more to offer to the show. It is not the same without her, and the show itself, is not at all interesting as it was. you may loose a lot of viewers.
It would be wise to bring Carter back. Finally a black character with a gentleness and grace but stern in conviction--no angry boss-witch attitude most portray. Losing viewers, I think it's time to fire the stupid writer(s) that decided to lose her. People need stability, especially when a family of characters are developed, so get smart and bring her back from witness protection--something???
Carter is dead. Her story was told. She's not coming back. That was the producers' plan all along, and it's not going to change. There's no writer to fire. The writing team and producers make these decisions as a group.
And right now you would be wrong because the ratings say exactly that. They've lost a third of their necessary 18-49 demographic and and close to 20% of their over all audience. If they keep things moving in the off the wall direction that they're going, then they'll continue to lose more than that.
Her story wasn't told. That's the problem. The very big problem here, and wrong that it wasn't. The "HR" storyline wasn't really hers. Of course she played a part in it, but it started out with Fusco. He was the dirty cop on the "inside".
Funny how she's the goner when they got ready to kill someone because the "HR" story was over (which doesn't make any sense because there's no way they got rid of all the crooked cops in one felt swoop, even with a register, because I know if I were the head of HR, only the low-level "nobodys" whose names I couldn't bother to remember would be on a register (and who says there's only one register?)... So the "HR" story isn't really over, even if they've moved on from it).
Really, they just did the Joss Carter character and the fans of the series a huge disservice. I don't believe that getting rid of her was the plan "all along," but I do think it's what was said while the producers were in CYA mode. But it's all really neither here nor there now. They've made their mistakes. They'll have to deal with that, and some such as myself will just have to move on and stop being viewers.
"People need stability, especially when a family of characters are developed, so get smart and bring her back from witness protection--something???"
And this was the best part of the show. The original 4 were a family. Now it's all just broken and pretty bad. They keep trying to compensate for her loss (with 2 characters no less) and they keep coming up short. She was needed.
The people in charge seem prideful though. So I don't think she'll come back, and I doubt they'd handle it well if they were forced to bring her back. It's just sad all the way around.
I really loved her character and I understand that characters go. It happens. I was just really dissappointed that we really didn't get into her story. Like why did she carry that picture around? Who was that guy to her? Why did she decided to go into the army and police force? How was her sense of right and wrong and her morality compass developed? As a viewer I was dissappointed that we only saw what she did and not who she was and how she became that character unlike Finch and Reese. Oh well, hopefully she will reappear at some point.
